What does a career in marketing pretain to?

I was thinking of making marketing my major in college. I need more information on what type of jobs would be available to me after I was done. I was also wondering if this is a good career path to go into?

careers in marketing are more than you can imagine. I think almost every career does have a faced of marketing, even if it just making yourself look appealing to your boss there are two types network marketing, dealing with people to provide services to them I think that a few good examples of these are insurance agents, personnel department, mortgage professional like loan originators, Realtors. Maybe there main profession isn’t;t marketing but they are not going to survive with out some serious marketing.
The other type is product marketing
the jobs pertain to price: deciding the value of new products, lower prices of products that are fading out
place: deciding where to sell products services packaging what to sell in certain markets regions and so on
promotion: this can be promoting an organization, a new product a person (like campaigning)
distribution: figuring out how many and where
I have a degree in marketing that I received in 2006 I would suggest this to anyone that is interested in business and arts like psychology, but not business and math. Good Luck
