Absolutely! If you have a business, and it is not online, you are missing out on some major exposure.
If you are concerned about the cost – it doesn’t have to be expensive at all.
I am not exactly clear on what “merchandising companies” do. I gather it is a go between for the manufacturer and the company that actually sells the product? If this is the case, it would greatly benefit you to join sites like “Facebook” and “LinkedIn”. They are social networking sites, and those two are primarily business based. (Plus, they are free!)
There are a lot of ways that are both inexpensive and effective when it comes to advertising online. Check out the term, “viral marketing”. It will help you a lot.
Also, learn how to put a “spin” on your business to make it useful for a target market that you may not have thought of before. If you are part of a small business, you might be able to add another dimension to your business for more revenue.
Think creative! Get out of the norm, and even redo your business plan to include the internet.
If you are not familiar with the internet, and all it can offer, I suggest hiring somebody who is. It will be well worth the investment.
All businesses need a web Presence. If you are not online, you are missing out.
