How does internet pricing work when looking to buy a new car?

I’m looking into buying a new Nissan Versa and am looking at local dealerships websites. One I found show the MSRP price as well as an internet price for all the Versas listed. All the internet prices all $2,500 to $3,000 cheaper than the MSRP price they have listed. So I wanted to know what does the internet pricing price tag mean and how does it work and can if I can really get the car that much cheaper how do I go about the process? Thanks.

I don’t know how you can do it in america, but over in the UK you can go on car broker websites and buy the same brand new cars for the price you mention. they are all roughly about £1000-£3000 cheaper than the prices at teh dealerships.

go to consumer reports and they have a $12 new car lookup and they’ll give you the lowest of the car and go from there. they have good articles there too.

I use edmunds.com and all info on any car you want is listed. when you get the tmv ( true market value ) that is the price you should pay for that car in your area. most everyone will give you that price or pretty close to it. you can also have many dealers either call or email you with their prices. you sorta cut out the middle man and that’s why you can save money. If the dealer is not within the price of about 100.00 than don’t deal with them, try another dealer. they will also give you the internet salesperson to contact and that is all he does so don’t have to deal with any sales people.
