Time to get to free market solutions on health care?

Would cons accept a NON-PARTISAN regulatory board, forbidding hospitals from refusing Medicare or Medicaid patients, and a stark prohibition on discriminating patients with preconditions or price discrimination, if we did concede on tort reform, letting insurers freely compete and a few of their other demands?

Probably not. Conservatives have it in their mind that any reform would be “Socialism.” They don’t want reform.

I’m for free market solutions to health care provided that we have good regulations. Right now things are just a mess. I presently pay $415/month for insurance, and I’m a single 33 y/o male. Insurance is just out of control expensive.

It is one thing to be expensive, but the insurance companies are also manipulative. They do everything they can to keep you from spending money, which often translates to not receiving treatment.

A friend of mine who was a hedge fund manager also did some work in insurance. They have a saying, “Don’t pay any claims.”
