What does it take to open an e-commerce business?

What does it take to open an e-commerce business in Europe?..I mean, besides owning a website and good dealers. Does anyone know the expenses involved and/or the profits that might come up?
Thanks

It will be a challenge at the beggining. I suggest a few things:

1. Hire international professional for lower costs:
2. Use open-source programms for lower costs.
3. Network (ryze.com, xing.com, ecademy.com)
4. Freelance designers are great
